I really appreciate the kids that came to carver to perform for us. They flew from Colombian to expose us o how tey dance in their culture. They seem very confident, and also had fu i what they were doing. My favorite part is when they came together, and sang together as a chorus. It remided me of the little children in Costa Rica, and how they were always together having fun. I really gie tem a roud of applause because i kow it was difficult to come to another coutry where everythig is different, and still excel in your performance.
The program last Friday was very wonderful and exciting. It showed me another side of the world and that I never experienced before. I was thrilled to see the students from Colombian exchange program come and share a piece of history and about them. They have strong beliefs and that they love to experience them in sound ad dance.I love the dancing and wish that for a class project we do the same and preset it to the school as well as learn more from the lesson we presented to the class and school. This was a wonderful experience and hope the museum is just like this!!!
On last Friday I observe that certain dancing have different meaning. Even though I not not understand what they was saying I still understood that the dancing they was doing mean something.I was a little shock seeing that only kids was performing and not adults. I mainly observe that their culture and our culture has somethings in common and somethings different. My opion anout the culture Columbia Program is that they was exciting to watch andvery good. I really enjoyed the show. The only thing i did not enjoy was the part i could not understand what they was saying. Everything else was awesome and different. I can say I really enjoyed myself and would like for them to visit again.
On Friday I enjoyed the kids from The Columbian Exchange Program performance for The New Schools At Carver. I learned a lot about their culture and dances. I also got a chance to see how beautiful the kids school is and Columbia. Their performance was amazing and I hope that they come back to perform again.
I really enjoyed the presination on friday. The dancing and the power pointwas really nice and when they were speaking english it showed me how hard learning a differnt lanuage can be. It should how we are all the same in some ways. They wernt shy and the peformed good.
It also should the hard work and dedcation the students had and the time it took to perform in fornt of us not knowing how we would respond or recat sooo for that two thumbs up.
At the Columbia performance on Friday, there were a lot of things that I was interested by. The dances and the outfits were so cute and cool to me. I got to see how their country and schools were like. Then after the performance we took pictures and they gave me a little dove bird and a bracelet as a souvenir. I really enjoyed myself. As my opinion I thought that the young people did real good to be 12 years old. The whole program was nice. I really like their culture and the colors of their flag. It was kind of hard to understand what they were saying but I just tried to figure it out as they went on.
At the Columbia Cultural performance, i enjoyes my self, as well as them. there was alot of things i didnt know about there lifestyle. looking at them perform showed how much they care about their own culture. i was apprecaitive of my dove and colubian bracelts, that were made by the students. If they were to come back, i would love to join them again, and thats with any other spanish culture!
On october 15, 2010 we were given a chance to observe colombian exchange students perform for us.They showed us about four or five different dances that pretain to their culture. They also showed a beautiful power point that showed informal information about their living style, and culture. I think that the students did a great job.Een though they seemed a little nervous they didn't give up, they kept going. I really appreciate what they did for us. It was a beautiful performance and presentation. I would enjoy to see another performance.
1. What was the presentation like?2. What did you like about this event?3. Did they have handicrafts?
The performance from the Columbian Exchange students was very informative! I learned a lot about the capital of Columbia, Bogata, and saw it's beauty in the pictures. The dances that the students danced truly showed their culture. The performance was very motivational! It made me more excited for my study abroad trip next semester. I was very impressed by the students english and it was evident that they are very intelligent. I am also very greatful for the bracelete I got from one of the students. Every time Iwear it, I will think about the Columbian students. Thak you and Pura Vida! :)
At the colombian exchange i saw several dances and heard songs that are done in colombia. on eo fhte dances the boys used their hats as a part of the dance. most of the dances the girls wore big skirts and they used their hands to make the skirts like a fan. another of the dances involved a lot of footwork while another dance they were on the floor. My opinion on the exchange is they did a wonderful job. they dances showed us a part of the colombuan heritage. also i liked the powerpoint they showed us about their school and country.
At the colombian excahnge I saw many interesting things. I saw traditional Colombian clothing and I saw many of their dances. They incorporated the drums and told information about where each of the thing originated from. They wore many things that incorporated the colors of their flag and I enjoyed learning about their culture. My opinion of it was that it was absolutely beautiful. I wish that I could return the favor for them. I had a wonderful time watching them and I greatly appreciate the bracelets that were given to me. I would love for them to come back and perform for us again.
I actually thought that the programwith the people from Columbia was pretty interesting. It was nice seeingthings about columbia, including the dances, music, and geography. It seems like Columbia has a richculture. Again I thought it was interesting and cool.
On Friday in the auditorium I experienced a peace of Columbia. I really enjoyed their performance. My part was watching the children demonstrate couple dancing. i also loved the pictures of Columbia, which displayed the environment and culture of their Country. I learned their flag colors and typical dress of men and women. Overall my favorite part of the show was watching the different types of dances such as, Salsa and Africa.i interacted with some of the young students, who also spoke in English.I really made a connection with the Columbians!

I enjoyed the Columbian Exchange performance. I learned that dances in Columbia are very traditional. The people of Columbia have many dances for many milestones in life. They also had dances for meeting potential wives and special ways that the male must approach the girl. I liked that the girl could deny him if she pleased to. This was an awesome idea for a cultural exchange, I believe that if more people got to experience this they would engage in this with the traditions rather than only be entertained, and ignorantly laugh at the traditions of other cultures. It is this exposure that I believe can assure less ignorance and a better global network and understanding.
